Hi, I’m Celia Salazar, the owner and baker behind Sweet Occasions, a home based bakery in Santa Rosa, California.

Sweet Occasions began in a way I never expected. For years, I donated cakes through an organization in Sonoma County simply because I loved baking and being able to give back. I never imagined that something I loved doing for others would eventually open the door to my own business, especially because it would take a life changing event for me to fully pursue it.

While in college, a serious spine injury forced me to slow down and step away from both school and the corporate path I had been pursuing. During that unexpected season, I found myself spending more time baking and creating. It became something I could pour my time, creativity, and love into, so I decided to truly invest in it. I spent countless hours learning new techniques, perfecting my recipes, developing my decorating skills, and slowly building Sugar & Crumbs one cake at a time.

Today, I continue to grow Sugar & Crumbs while pursuing my master’s degree in School Counseling. Everything I bake is made from scratch because I believe a cake should taste just as special as it looks. Every order is thoughtfully created for the person, celebration, and memories behind it.

Giving back has remained an important part of Sugar & Crumbs from the very beginning. Ten percent of every sale is set aside to give back, whether through a charity, my church, or wherever I feel there is an opportunity to support my community.

What started with giving away cakes has grown into a business that allows me to create, celebrate with others, and continue giving back to the community that helped shape Sweet Occasions.
